I’m thrilled to announce a special surprise release on the channel! The official 2026 Remake of my most popular cover—Hans Zimmer's "Now We Are Free" from Gladiator—is officially live on YouTube.
Originally released years ago, this cover played a pivotal role in establishing the cinematic, high-energy direction of the Matt Daver project. Returning to the project file for 2026 allowed me to apply updated production techniques while honoring the foundation that made the original version resonate with so many listeners.
🎛️ WHAT’S NEW IN THE 2026 VERSION?
Rather than changing the core melody or emotional progression, the focus of this remake was on sonic elevation:
Modernized Sound Design: Re-built basslines and synth stacks to match current peak-time Melodic Techno and Trance standards.
Enhanced Dynamics: Crisp synth layers, punchier drum processing, and a wider cinematic stereo field.
Preserved Soul: Keeping the original arrangement's nostalgic energy intact while giving it a crisp, festival-ready polish.
